around 1952, adventuress brought seattle, went through several owners. eventually, wound in care of monty morton , ernestine bennett, managed non-profit sail training organization called youth adventure. under ownership, boat restored of original lines, had been altered during years working vessel. in 1988, sound experience began conducting educational programs on vessel, , following year listed national historic landmark.
