ottoman era
kafr jammal incorporated ottoman empire in 1517 of palestine, , in 1596 appeared under name in tax registers being in nahiya of bani sa b of liwa of nablus. had population of 17 households , 13 bachelors, muslims. villagers paid fixed tax rate of 33,3% on various agricultural products, such wheat, barley, summer crops, olive trees, goats and/or beehives, in addition occasional revenues , press olive oil or grape syrup; total of 11,074 akçe.
in 1838, kefr jemmal noted village in beni sa ab area, west of nablus. in 1882, palestine exploration fund s survey of western palestine described kefr jemmal small stone village on knoll, cisterns.
british mandate era
in 1922 census of palestine conducted british mandate authorities, kufr jammal had population of 396 muslims, increasing in 1931 census 499; 1 christian , 498 muslims, in 109 houses.
in 1945 population of kafr jammal 690 muslims, 14,945 dunams of land according official land , population survey. of this, 1,702 dunams plantations , irrigable land, 4,451 used cereals, while 19 dunams built-up (urban) land.
jordanian era
in wake of 1948 arab–israeli war, , after 1949 armistice agreements, kafr jammal came under jordanian rule.
post 1967
after six-day war in 1967, kafr jammal came under israeli occupation.
