on 28 june 1938, grosvenor commissioned 11th (city of london yeomanry) light anti-aircraft brigade, newly formed territorial army unit of royal artillery, second lieutenant. ended world war ii war substantive major.


on 1 may 1947, transferred reformed city of london yeomanry (rough riders) , promoted pre-war substantive rank of second lieutenant major seniority 24 april 1944. service number 76151. transferred north irish horse on 1 may 1949. on 11 november 1949, awarded efficiency decoration (td) long service territorial army. promoted lieutenant colonel on 15 february 1953. awarded clasp efficiency decoration on 26 october 1954. on 14 february 1956, moved active list territorial army reserve of officers. resigned commission on 15 april 1960 , permitted retain rank of lieutenant colonel.
