after assassination of caesar, gaius (as caesarean) appointed governor roman province of macedonia. marcus junius brutus , other assassins, however, chose macedonia refuge octavian , - following opposition gaius - dispossessed him of governorship. brutus @ first seemed treat him generously, but, on finding attempting persuade troops mutiny, ordered death.
