the radio station began in 1948 when ktht (now kbme) vacated frequency stronger signal @ 790 khz. under knuz callsign, top40 formatted station through 1960s, competing kilt (am) houston outgrew 1230 s signal coverage , kilt won battle in 70s. knuz switched country format until late 1980s, becoming news/opinion format until owner dave morris sold station along sister fm, kque on 102.9, clear channel in 1997.

liberman broadcasting filed application sell kcoh pueblo de galilea, llc in april 2016. granted federal communications commission , consummated on may 2, 2016, resulting in kcoh becoming member of radio aleluya, local spanish-language christian radio network owned pueblo de galilea. purchase price facility $1.8 million.

on friday october 15, 2016 pueblo de galilea completed move of translator k223cw george west, texas tower located in north houston. kcoh dropped simulcast sister station 1590 kmic houston, , launched new tropical format on kcoh , new translator named la calle 92.5 .

in september 2017, espn deportes radio moved 1180 kgol kcoh. change, kcoh has abandoned fm translator 92.5 k223cw, moving sister radio aleluya facility 880 kjoz conroe, while continuing tropical la calle format on kjoz , 92.5.
