a tiger moth similar under restoration @ luskintyre


the airfield established in 1977 aim of restoring , operating vintage aircraft. company specialising in repair , restoration of de havilland aircraft later established , has operated hangar on airfield on 30 years.


on 1 may 1994, visiting tiger moth lost engine power , crashed while performing wing walking demonstration @ luskintyre. both pilot , wing-walker killed in accident.


in october 2003, tiger moths luskintyre participated in great tiger moth air race, event celebrating 100 years of powered flight , sponsored aircraft manufacturer airbus. in september 2010, airfield hosted flying displays , events coinciding 100th anniversary of first de havilland aircraft.


lunch tiger moths regular event held on first saturday of each month (weather permitting). event allows visitors inspect airworthy , under-restoration tiger moths , view museum s collection of memorabilia.


many recreational pilots professional pilots use airfield. frequented aerobatic champion paul bennet, , formation flying team skyaces.
