in 1890 new infirmary building alfred waterhouse constructed on brownlow street site. building impressive example of victorian design, in red brick. in 1978 building closed , replaced royal liverpool university hospital. in 1994 bought liverpool university , restored after being left empty since closure, , used university of liverpool school of medicine clinical skills teaching , examinations. royal infirmary has since been used bbc casualty 1907 in 2006/2007.
