the organization made of members various chapters across united states , abroad. 6,000 members strong, aias represents 25,000 architecture students enrolled in naab accredited programs. being centralized in u.s., our regions based on 4 geographic territories: northeast quad, midwest quad, south quad, , west quad.
chapters follow governing rules of aias set forth in bylaws , rules of board; however, every chapter creates independent culture based on location, design school philosophies, support faculty , administrators, , engagement of students. aias celebrates these differences, knowing when come can learn 1 another, , bonded our passion architecture.
chapter leaders serve on council of presidents (cop). governing body of organization meets twice year vote on business of aias, including election of board of directors. meetings of cop occur @ grassroots leadership conference in summer , forum, annual meeting during new years break. engaging organization @ national level allows students chance develop leadership skills, learn macro scale issues impacting profession, , gain new ideas chapters , schools.
