in 1899, nw-cars wien , nesselsdorf (descendant models after präsident), achieved first significant racing success on trotter course in vienna prater. first race in austrian monarchy @ - started on october 23, 1899. driver of winning nw-car wien baron theodor von liebig. other nw-car nesselsdorf second 1 before concurrent of 4 benz-cars , 4 dietrich-bolleé cars. later in march 1900 liebig raced triangle 192 km track nizza - draguignan - nizza, won second stage @ all. 4 days later won class of four-seaters 1000 kg in famous hill climb race nizza - la turbié. based on achievements, baron liebig ordered construction of new automobile. while previous cars liebig used in races built common cars, 1 ordered designed purposely race car.
