he born in antwerp son of german piano builder had immigrated antwerp. brother painter michael angelo immenraet. in 1641–1642 philips augustijn registered in antwerp guild of saint luke pupil of lucas van uden, landscape painter.


it possible travelled italy @ age of 18 , resided there 1645 1655. upon return antwerp became master of antwerp guild of saint luke.


he married catharina de hille. sons michel angelo ii, philips augustijn ii , andries. had daughter maria-catherina married painter jan baptist boel.


immenraet’s pupils included son andries , pieter rijsbraeck. philips augustijn immenraet died in antwerp in 1679.
