in 2004 organization adopts new logo , website. in 2004, aias introduces new logo alternating layered shapes, reflective of both past , forward looking. suggests progressive organization respectful of history. includes iconic in middle representing compass (drawing tool), architecture, , s in organization s acronym. compass technical drawing instrument can used inscribing circles or arcs. dividers, can used tools measure distances, in particular on maps. compasses can used mathematics, drafting, navigation, , other purposes. members of organization received pin symbol , began wearing on lapel.
