born , raised in ede, netherlands, nick de bondt began football career playing youth ranks of local amateur side sv otterlo. in 2008, joined youth ranks of nearby vitesse/agovv, joint youth team of both vitesse arnhem , agovv apeldoorn, remained next 3 seasons.

on 8 june 2011 ajax announced had signed young left footed winger gelderland 3-year contract, bound him amsterdam club until 30 june 2014. during first season ajax, nick de bondt joined ajax a1 youth selection. while playing ajax a1 youth squad in 2011–12, nick de bondt helped side win nike eredivisie league title, finishing runners-up inter milan in nextgen series (the champions league equivalent under-20 teams) after losing on penalties (5–3) following 1–1 deadlock after time.
after playing ajax a1 selection first 2 seasons ajax, nick de bondt joined ajax reserves team jong ajax 2013–14 season. jong ajax had been promoted beloften eredivisie, , competing in dutch eerste divisie, 2nd tier of professional football in netherlands. having been sidelined due injury, nick de bondt did not make professional debut until matchday 11, substituted in boban lazić in 74 minute, in 3–1 away loss sbv excelsior in rotterdam.
