australian broadcast infrastructure company broadcast australia undertook three-year trial in sydney of datacasting service using dvb-t system use in australia.
the trial consisted of number of services on 1 standard 7mhz multiplex, collectively known digital forty four.
the collection included:
a combined program guide free-to-air broadcasters (channel 4)
abc news, sport, , weather items (channel 41)
channel nsw (link) government , public information, including real time traffic information , life surf webcam images (channel 45)
australian christian channel (channel 46)
expo home shopping (channel 49) and
federal parliamentary audio broadcasts.
more near-australia wide broadcast of datacasting channel called mytalk commenced on april 13, 2007. broadcasting part of multiplex on southern cross , southern cross ten stations, provided news, weather , other information, available free able tune in. stream consisted of text applicable viewer s location , 4:3 video window of broadcast tv relevant southern cross/southern cross ten station.
on february 25, 2008, mytalk ceased broadcasting. digital forty 4 shut down @ midnight on night of april 30, 2010.
