this quadrant contains historic old town albuquerque, dates 18th century, indian pueblo cultural center. area has mixture of commercial districts , low- middle-income neighborhoods. northwest albuquerque includes largest section of downtown, rio grande nature center state park , bosque ( woodlands ), petroglyph national monument, double eagle ii airport, martineztown, paradise hills neighborhood, taylor ranch, , cottonwood mall.


additionally, north valley settlement, outside city limit, has expensive homes , small ranches along rio grande, located here. city of albuquerque engulfs village of los ranchos de albuquerque. small portion of rapidly developing area on west side of river south of petroglyphs, known west mesa or westside , consisting of traditional residential subdivisions, extends quadrant. city proper bordered on north north valley, village of corrales, , city of rio rancho.
