the monticello dam powerplant completed in 1983 , has 3 generators, totaling capacity of 11.5 megawatts (mw). powerplant operated , maintained solano irrigation district. electrical power sent north bay area of san francisco bay area.
as of 1992, 71,445 acres (28,913 ha), or 75 percent, of project command area irrigated. water diverted 6 miles (9.7 km) downstream of monticello @ putah diversion dam, , distributed farms through 33-mile (53 km) putah south canal. canal ends @ terminal reservoir, supplies water city of vallejo. 1999 contract provides delivery of 207,350 acre feet (0.25576 km) of water each year irrigation. 32,000 acre feet (0.039 km) of municipal water supplied project.
since construction dam , reservoir have prevented $5,015,000 in flooding related damages.
